What We Believe

Our Beliefs and What We Stand For

Our Beliefs

We are a community centred on Jesus Christ, grounded in Scripture and shaped by the historic Christian faith. We affirm the authority of the Bible, the Trinity, salvation by grace through faith, believers’ baptism and the priesthood of all believers.

We seek to live out our faith together in worship, witness and service, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Statements of Faith

The Foundation of Our Beliefs

  • The Church recognises Jesus Christ as its supreme Head and seeks to order its affairs according to His Word and the practice of His Apostles.
  • The teaching of the Church is based on belief in:
    • God as Creator of all people and the father of all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
    • The Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, Redeemer of the world and the sole Mediator through faith in Whom alone we have forgiveness of sins.
    • God the Holy Spirit.
    • The fact of sin and the necessity for the Atonement.
    • The Incarnation, Death, Resurrection, Ascension and coming again of the Lord Jesus Christ.
    • The whole Bible as the Inspired Word of God.
  • The Communion of the Lord’s Supper shall be open to all who believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour and acknowledge His Lordship over their lives.
