Life Together Beyond Sundays

Get Involved

We are a family-friendly church aiming to serve our community. There are many ways to connect and grow together during the week.

Life Groups

Doing life together

Life Groups are small communities of people from within our church who are meeting regularly, intentionally, and journeying with one another in faith and life.

Life Groups exist to Build-Up and Equip the believer for life and godliness. To facilitate growth in the knowledge and practice of our faith with the goal of becoming more like Jesus as we live out the great commandments and the great commission.

To join a group, please use the sign up form here or contact office@bearsdenbaptistchurch.com.

The Well-Come Café

Wednesdays, 2–4pm

The Well-Come Café is a community space to promote wellbeing in our local community. We offer a loving and safe environment where everyone is accepted. We offer gentle activities, crafts and refreshments, all free of charge, but equally, a place to simply sit and feel accepted.

Named after John 4:1-42, it is now open from 2-4pm every Wednesday, in Room 2 of Maxholme (the older section of the building).

The café is a loving, safe and non-judgemental place where everyone is accepted. There will be activities, crafts and refreshments provided but also simply the opportunity to rest and be human together.

A short time of prayer using Psalm 103 or the Lord’s Prayer, to which all are invited without obligation, will be offered at the end of each session and there will be the opportunity to signpost people to further helpful resources or agencies in the local community, if needed.

If you or anyone you know among friends, neighbours, family or colleagues are struggling with loneliness, weariness, grief, anxiety or depression, please know you are welcome here! All are welcome in the kingdom of God!

Bumps and Bundles

Mondays 9.30-11.30am

Bumps and Bundles is our Toddler Group and is open to all pre-school children and their carers. We meet in the main large meeting space on Monday mornings from 9.30am-11.30am in term time and have an open door policy. So you are welcome to join us anytime or just try it out! We are a friendly group run by church volunteers.

In our time together there are various activities: crafts, free play, special baby area, songs and story time, books, puzzles and Lego activities. Snack time for kids and coffee and delicious treats for the adults. We sometimes have a puppet show and a variety of special activities throughout the year, especially at Christmas and Easter.

The group is based on Christian principles and teaching, and we offer a listening ear and prayer if wanted.

Every year we support a chosen charity, usually caring for the poor and children.

Welcome Families

Helping our Young People Find God

A crèche is always available during the service for our youngest children.

Kids Church meets for kids from preschool age to P6 during the Sunday service with age-appropriate Bible teaching, activities and fun.

Catalyst is our youth ministry for young people of secondary age from Primary 7 upwards. We help our young people explore faith and life together.

We also organise special events and trips for children and young people throughout the year, especially around Christmas and Easter. This has included things such as a Stargazing night and day trips away to Faith festivals.

Lunch Break

Tuesday 12.30pm from September to June

Lunch Break is a lunchtime activity held every second Tuesday 12.30 to 2.30 p.m. from September to June.

Who can come? Those who attend are mainly senior citizens, but anyone is welcome.

What do we do? We eat lunch together – delicious sandwiches, quiche and sausage rolls (sometimes warm cheese scones or soup over the colder winter months!) Following lunch, we have a time of singing together when we choose our favourite Christian songs, followed by a talk from a guest speaker. We try to vary the topics, and they can range from telling us about charities they represent, to a personal testimony of what God is doing in their daily lives.

Who do I contact to find out more? Margaret Gillies on 07558 226 085, or by email at margaret.gillies@ntlworld.com

Marriage Course

Invest in your relationship

We periodically run courses designed to support couples in building strong, healthy marriages through practical teaching and conversations.

Open Doors Days

Discover our heritage

At Bearsden Baptist Church we host open doors days every so often. During these events you're invited to discover our unique building, featuring the historic Maxholme Villa and the modern church sanctuary, set within beautiful grounds that once housed a Roman fort.

Both the building and gardens will be open to the public, highlighting our Roman heritage.

On these days you can enjoy guided tours, trails for children, and refreshments during your visit.

We also host engaging talks about our history, alongside acoustic music and poetry readings throughout the day.

Look out at the Events Calendar to see when the next Open Doors Day is coming up.

We look forward to welcoming you to Bearsden Baptist Church!

Our Gardens

Open to all

The church boasts an expansive green space open to the public, featuring formal gardens and woodland situated on an ancient Roman Fort, part of the Antonine Wall. The gardens include a Roman mosaic, a community art project, and a Granary Garden. They are open daily between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
