Bearsden Baptist supports, financially and through prayer, missionaries working in South Africa as well as the work of Mission Aviation Fellowship, BMS and of Tearfund in Ethiopia. The following is just a snapshot of some of the work and folk we love to support.

South Africa

Cate and Nick Lear

Cate and Nick and their three children have lived in Manenberg, Cape Town for over a year. Their objective is to serve Jesus in Manenberg by establishing loving relationships with disadvantaged folk living there. Cate has set up a pre-school nursery called Skatties which meets five mornings a week in her home. Her monthly blog can be found at www.dustierfeet.blogspot.co.uk. Nick has set up a film & media enterprise called Manenberg Media Co. and is using his skills to make short films highlighting hopeful stories coming out of Manenberg. He has also built and equipped a recording studio in his home to record local musicians and songwriters.

Tearfund

We are a Connected Church with the Kale Heywet Church in Ethiopia http://connected.tearfund.org/en/partners/ekhc/ .  In particular, we support the work Kale Heywet church are doing with Self Help Groups throughout Ethiopia.  Several members have been to visit and we have regular updates via email and Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/383631228331173/.

We fundraise at events throughout the year as well as offering prayer support

Mission Aviation Fellowship

Bearsden Baptist has been a loyal supporter of this organisation for many years and the main fundraiser for this is the annual MAF coffee morning and plant sale in May.

Baptist Missionary Society

We also support the work of BMS , who produce a regular magazine which you might be interested in downloading: https://www.bmsworldmission.org/get-involved/stay-informed/engage/
